Sandwalk BioVentures S.L. and General Inception LLC today announce their collaboration to fund and develop the next generation of companies working on microbiome technologies in therapeutics, diagnostics, agriculture and animal health.
General Inception (GI) is a venture studio under the leadership of Paul Conley and Vikram Chaudhery, focused on co-founding and building science-based companies from concept on – meaning no idea is too early. GI brings key elements of company building, i.e., formation capital, productization resources, market development resources and operational infrastructure, under one roof, with the aim to be the best business co-founder for exciting technologies. GI has four practice areas, namely Life Science Research Tools, Medical Devices and Imaging, Cell Engineering, and Microbiome.
Sandwalk, as a leading strategy firm focused on microbiome technologies, will lead the Microbiome Practice Area within GI. Both companies will work together in the identification of early-stage, high-potential microbiome technologies in different application areas to support their inventors in the translational work required to take them to the next level. Both companies expect to found between 3 and 4 microbiome companies throughout 2021.
